The Elephants Came to the Lake

Join us for an engaging storytelling and sustainability workshop that explores the relationship between elephants, people and the natural environment.

Through the story The Elephants Came to the Lake, children will discover why elephants may move closer to human settlements and how changes in their habitats, food and water sources can affect their behaviour.

The session will also introduce children to climate change and El Niño, exploring how changes in rainfall, heat and water availability can impact wildlife and communities in Sri Lanka.

Through discussion, drawing and creative activities, children will be encouraged to think about how people and elephants can live together in harmony and share their ideas for protecting both communities and wildlife.
