Update: We have resumed Cambridge Assessment English exams in July 2020. We have worked hard to ensure that proper safety and hygiene measures are in place at our test venues, in line with government directives.

British Council became the first Authorised Exam Centre (LK001) of Cambridge Assessment English in Sri Lanka in 1990. To-date over 250 registration centres in Sri Lanka and Maldives prepare candidates for Cambridge Assessment English exams. Our registration partners are spread across the nine provinces in Sri Lanka and five atolls in the Maldives.

British Council has won several accolades in recognition of its commitment to the safe, secure and reliable delivery of the exams it administers complying with the expectations of the exam boards. At present, the largest number of candidates in Sri Lanka are registered through the British Council, which is a testament to the trust placed on us.

Cambridge Assessment English exams are known and recognised by schools, universities, private and public sector employers all over the English-speaking world.

Success in a Cambridge Assessment English exam provides you with an internationally recognised certificate showing the level you have attained in English.
