Keith Davies, Country Director

Keith took up his post as the Country Director of British Council Sri Lanka in August 2013. He has been working for the British Council for over 35 years, primarily in East Asia – in Malaysia, Thailand, China, Vietnam and Indonesia, and also in London and Bahrain. In 2010, Keith was awarded the honorary title ‘Order of the British Empire’ by Queen Elizabeth II for his exceptional delivery of work in cultural relations. 

David Maynard, Deputy Director

David has worked for the British Council for 15 years in Spain, Jordan, Cameroon, Syria, the UAE, Burma and now Sri Lanka. He joined the British Council as an English teacher, and has held the positions Senior Teacher, Corporate Courses Manager, Teaching Centre Manager and Deputy Director. Prior to arriving in Sri Lanka he led the British Council in Burma on the establishment of a large education project working in all Burmese Teacher Training Colleges in in response to a request by the Burmese President with the support of DFID.  

Simon Creasey, Country Exams Manager

Simon has worked for the British Council for 21 years; in Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and now Sri Lanka (since August 2015). He first started as an English teacher, later becoming a teacher trainer before moving into Teaching and Examination Centre management (his last post was Director Naples). He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Auckland University and is also a graduate of the New Zealand School of Drama.

Galina Pereira, Assistant Director of Resources and Finance

Galina has been with the British Council for over five years. Previously, she worked in the corporate sector for over 10 years as Head of Finance of a large conglomerate in Sri Lanka in the tea and travel industry. She started off her career in auditing and was involved in consultancy assignments at Messrs Ernst and Young Sri Lanka for four years. Galina is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and has a Masters in business administration.
