Women in Digital: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
Date
Friday 26 September 2025

We are excited to announce an upcoming regional discussion on women’s participation in South Asia’s technology sector. The ICT industry is one of the region’s fastest growing, contributing nearly 46% of service exports in 2024. Yet, women remain underrepresented, with less than 20% of the workforce in tech roles and even fewer in leadership positions.

This interactive session will bring together regional leaders and practitioners to explore:

  • The state of gender parity in South Asia’s digital economy
  • Barriers and enablers for women entering and advancing in tech
  • Ongoing initiatives that foster equity, including the British Council’s work under the EU TVET IV programme
  • What the next decade might hold for women in digital

 Featured speakers

  • Gulmina Bilal Ahmad – Chairperson, NAVTTC (Pakistan)
  • Murtaza Zaidi – Founder and CEO, Cyber Vision (Pakistan)

 Chair

  • Sarah Parvez – Team Lead, EU TVET Programme (Pakistan)

  • Gain insights into gender trends and challenges in South Asia’s tech sector
