About the ELTReP Awards
Action research is a powerful tool for professional development – it helps teachers and other educators build on their skills and knowledge, reflect on their classroom practices and ultimately improve students’ learning outcomes. The ELTReP Awards are for small scale research projects based in the Sri Lankan classroom context. Their purpose is to:
- promote Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Sri Lankan educators and enhance their pedagogical practices and research skills
- encourage high-quality research and action research from Sri Lanka educators which is relevant to the country’s English Language Teaching (ELT) and English Medium Instruction (EMI) communities
- improve access, research links and knowledge sharing between ELT and EMI professionals and promote Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Sri Lankan educators and enhance their pedagogical practices and research skills
