About Ian

Ian Benson began his career working in production and has produced a number of feature films, including the mockumentary comedy CONFETTI.   In 2006 Confetti was bought for worldwide distribution by Fox Searchlight at the Cannes Film Festival.  In  the same year Ian joined The Agency, where he represents film and TV directors.  With an expanding client list of exciting writer/directors, he likes to work closely and collaboratively with his clients and takes a proactive approach to agenting.  Ian recently launched The Agency’s new talent-led production company Blue Bear Film and Television.

The Agency has seen numerous awards – including an Outstanding Debut BAFTA, various BIFAs, a Sundance Audience Award and more recently Two Berlinale Silver Bears, and an Oscar nomination and win. 

Blue Bear Film and Television 

Blue Bear Film and Television is a new production company based in Manchester; a joint venture between The Agency, business affairs specialists Big Deal and Creative England, a not-for-profit organisation providing support for talent and businesses across the TV, film and creative industries.

As a client-focussed production business, Blue Bear supports key creative talent using the wide-ranging experience and resources of its team and shareholders to facilitate the successful development and realisation of their projects.

It is developing a slate of films and television projects with a number of leading writers and directors for the domestic and international market.
