Online harassment and online violence against women affects any woman with a social media presence, a blog, or just a voice out there on the internet! Trolls, stalkers, extremist bullies, vengeful ex-lovers – these are just some of the categories of people that women have to watch out for when maintaining a vocal online presence. But what does one do, in these situations? Do we go silent? Deactiviate our accounts? Back down? Nighat Dad is a Pakistan lawyer and activist who has dedicated her life to working with girls and women to combat online violence against women, while reclaiming technology for ourselves as well.
