This benchmarking exercise is an initiative conducted in Sri Lanka by the British Council to support our work in English language development. The results of the exercise was released to the public at the British Council Aptis English Language Forum.
Objective:
To understand the level of English required in specific job roles in each of the English language skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening)

Methodology
The research was conducted by interviewing role-holders and their managers to find out exactly what they needed to be able to do in English.

The research did not assess the role-holders actual levels of English: it only defines what levels are needed.
Results
