The British Council is proud to present one of Sri Lanka's most experimental music collectives in performance, along with Greg Lyons, a British music educator and performer currently working in South East Asia.
The Musicmatters Collective was a result of the experimental music school MUSICMATTERS owned and run by Dr. Sumudhi Suraweera and Eshantha Joseph Peiris. Many experimental music projects have been born and created at the school and we will be featuring some of the best outfits at our concert, including BALIPHONICS (a new take on the Sri Lankan Bali ritual), THRILOKA (a rock/jazz fusion band primarily inspired by traditional Sri Lankan music) and SERENDIB SORCERERS (a project that gives a modern spin to traditional Jana Gee).
There will also be a one-of-a-kind live jam with Sri Lankan bera performers and Greg Lyons on the saxophone.
Tickets: 500/- available at the British Council and Music Matters (92/1A Dudley Senanayake Mawatha, Colombo 08)
