Bond Binge with the British Council
Date
Friday 30 October 2015 19:30 to Wednesday 04 November 2015 19:30
Location
Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Liberty Plaza

In celebration of the upcoming new James Bond movie, ‘Spectre’, the British Council Film Club is partnering with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf to bring you a selection of Bond Films covering the last three decades.

The movies will be screened at Coffee Bean’s brand new café at Liberty Plaza, and they will be having a selection of Bond themed snacks and drinks for you to enjoy whilst watching the movies.

We also hope to have a small trivia question each night for die-hard Bond fans which will give you the chance to win exclusive Bond memorabilia

We are also adding an “educational element” to our Bond Binge by bringing over the former Head of EON Productions, which is the production company that makes the Bond movies.  Alby James will be conducting a Master Class at this year’s Colombo International Film Festival for local filmmakers who want to learn how to pitch their movies to international studio houses.  For more information and to register for the class click here.

Alby will also be holding an intimate evening session for Bond fans to talk about the ‘Enduring Franchise of Bond’ and why the movies hold the record of the longest continually running film series in the history of motion pictures

To ensure that we get out money’s worth from Alby, we have also persuaded him to do a workshop for our theatre community on directing and interpreting Shakespeare for stage.   Before joining EON, Alby spent fifteen years working for some of London’s most famous play houses, and has directed plays at the Royal Court and the Royal Shakespeare Company.  He will speak to theatre professionals ( actors and directors) about his experiences and talk them through his and other London directors’ processes for interpreting Shakespeare and getting actors to engage in their roles.
