What can you study in the British Council English course for adults? 

  • Spoken English skills – develop your fluency, pronunciation and confidence speaking English with a speaking-focused modules.

  • Speaking assessment – receive written feedback from your teacher every 15 hours of class time. Get feedback on your Fluency, Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Accuracy and Task Achievement. 
  • Writing assessment – receive written feedback on writing assignments. Get feedback on your Organization, Vocabulary, Accuracy, Appropriacy and Task Achievement. 
  • In-class feedback – get feedback from your teacher in every lesson. Self and peer assess in each lesson to get feedback from your classmates. 
  • Module certificates – receive a certificate for each module (unit) completed. 
  • Post-lesson activities – complete post-lesson activities and module (unit) quizzes through our learning management system. Get results and scores instantly. 
  • Certificate of completion – earn a certificate of completion when finishing a CEFR level.

  • Workplace English pathway – focus on English for business. Participate in mock meetings, discuss projects with team members, learn how to communicate effectively and professionally in the workplace.

  • Booster (Language Skills) – focus on language skills. Develop your grammatical accuracy, improve your ability to pronounce a range of language features and develop your writing skills.

All British Council English students can attend a wide variety of outside-of-class clubs & events every week at our centres. Here are some examples of clubs & events we offer. 

  • Grammar doctor – focus on a specific grammar area. Improve your accuracy and get feedback from the teacher. 
  • Pronunciation doctor – focus on a specific pronunciation. Improve your spoken fluency and get feedback on your pronunciation. 
  • Conversation club – come together to have discussions on a range of interesting topics. 
  • Writing club – practice different writing genres and get feedback from the teacher. 
  • Special events – join together with large groups of students in fun social events. For example, Halloween and Christmas events, game nights and team quiz challenges.
