After completing my MA, I worked for Leonard Cheshire Disability International co-ordinating projects in conflict- affected countries, including Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Afghanistan. During this time, I developed my experience of negotiating with stakeholders, writing reports, and giving presentations - skills which I try to draw on as appropriate when working on contract courses.
Over the last few years, I have been responsible for designing and delivering courses for a variety of organisations for the British Council in Yangon, Tunis and Dubai. These include Total (oil and gas), Oxfam, Henner (health insurance), Tunisian British Chamber of Commerce, and most recently, ENOC (Emirates National Oil Company), a course for oil terminal operators. These have covered a variety of areas and levels, incorporating skills and general/technical language where required, and been specifically designed to meet the needs of participants.
I have also taught in-house short courses on meeting and presentation skills and business writing, as well as more general Business English courses.
