Our Primary Plus course is based on interactive classes which have been developed to spark a love of English. Classes combine digital tools with colourful magazines and use animation and characters (such as ‘Shaun the Sheep’, developed through our exclusive partnership with Aardman Animations).

Your child will develop confidence in listening, speaking, reading and writing through interactive activities and creative tasks. We set them exciting projects, encouraging them to work in groups to create innovative solutions together. Our global teams have worked very hard to ensure that our lessons online are age-appropriate and effective.

Online classes are structured around four components:

  1. Self-study
  2. Project
  3. Live class
  4. Reflection

To further enhance the online learning experience for our Young Learners, our online classes are limited to a small group of up to 10 students.

This gives us the opportunity to spend more time with each student and maximise teacher and student interaction.

For children born in 2012 or 2013.

Your child will:

  • Learn to read and write in English, first at word level, then at sentence level
  • Build accurate sentences, using new vocabulary
  • Understand and present their ideas in English on familiar topics.

They will do this by:

  • Finding out how everyone is unique in their likes, dislikes and interests
  • Recognising how daily lives can be similar or different
  • Describing their own surroundings, from their bedroom to their neighbourhood
  • Being aware of how they express their feelings and make life choices
  • Thinking about the natural world and how they belong in it.

For children born in 2009, 2010 or 2011.

Your child will:

  • Learn and practise new vocabulary on familiar topics, in activities such as writing creatively
  • Read independently and form an interest in a variety of topics.
  • Learn story writing and to read more confidently in English
  • Present and compare ideas and opinions using more complex language.

They will do this by:

  • Developing their imagination through storytelling
  • Learning from their curiosity about the natural world, from the sea to outer space
  • Thinking about and sharing ideas on how to keep happy and healthy
  • Making use of their skills and knowledge to help others
  • Exploring issues affecting society and the environment and finding solutions
  • Looking back on primary school and thinking about their hopes for the future.
