About this course
The Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is an affordable, internationally recognised teaching qualification for teachers of primary, secondary and adult English learners.
Our TKT course will help you to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to successfully take the theory component of the Teaching Knowledge Test.
Whether you’re an experienced teacher who wants to keep their skills up-to-date or a teacher with less experience who wants to enhance their career opportunities, you can now take the TKT course in Colombo or Kandy every Sunday. The TKT course consists of three part-time study modules – one three hour class every week.
- Module 1 - background to language teaching
Module One focuses on both language (describing language and skills) and the background to language learning and teaching.
- Module 2 - planning for language teaching
- Module 3 - classroom management
Module Two and Three focus on lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching and managing the teaching and learning process.
The minimum level for this course is the Common European Framework B1 or British Council Pre-Intermediate 3. TKT courses have a maximum of 30 participants.
