About this course
The Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is an affordable, internationally recognised teaching qualification for teachers of primary, secondary and adult English learners.
The TKT has seven modules. Modules 1,2 and 3 are the core modules that test theoretical knowledge of language teaching. The fourth core module, TKT Practical, is an assessment of practical teaching in the classroom.
There are three extension modules which test knowledge on specialized areas including teaching to young learners, teaching other curriculum subjects in the English medium, and knowledge of the language systems covering the lexical, phonological, grammatical and discourse features of English.
You can take all of the modules of TKT, or just choose the ones that meet your needs. TKT offers total flexibility in how and when you take the modules and you receive a certificate from the University of Cambridge for each module that you do.
