Our teens courses are for children aged between 14 and 15 years and are focused towards maximising their grades, ready for university. Students will focus on group work such as problem solving, project work, topical discussions and working independently.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS BRITISH COUNCIL COURSE?
Choose an English teens course and your child will:
- get a qualified and experienced teacher
- work in pairs and groups to practise their English and improve their social skills
- explore the world through a range of exciting topics and projects
- develop their study skills and do better at school
- learn to love English.
THE RIGHT LEVEL FOR YOUR CHILD
The children are placed into classes according to age and ability and there are five levels in this course. Levels one to four are divided into two cycles. Level five is a four-term course for students who have completed teens level four, but are not old enough to join an adults class.
If your child is new to the British Council, they will need to take a placement test to find out which level is right for them. Register for this course and book a placement test by calling or visiting our English language centres.
HOW WILL YOUR CHILD'S PROGRESS BE ASSESSED?
We use continuous assessment to measure progress through homework, tasks and tests to assess your child's progress throughout the term. At the end of the academic year there will be a test.
At the end of each term, your child will get a report with comments from their teacher about their participation and progress.
Your child will receive a certificate during the academic year. To receive a certificate your child will need to attend at least 60% of the course (i.e. minimum six out of ten lessons in each term).
