About this course

The Spoken English course is for students who have studied English in the past, but need to improve their language fluency and confidence in speaking English.

The 25 hour course will consist of speaking, listening and pronunciation skills in a range of real-life social, academic and professional situations.

    THE RIGHT LEVEL FOR YOU

    The Spoken English courses are for students at pre-intermediate and intermediate levels. If you are new to the British Council, you will need to take a placement test to find out which level is right for you.
    Book a test by calling or visiting one of our English language centres.

    HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? 

    We measure your progress using continuous assessment and speaking tasks, so you can understand your strengths and where there is room for improvement. 

Where is this course taught?

Dates and prices

Before you register for a Spoken English course you will need to take a placement test, which is a written and a short spoken test to find out your child's level of English.  

Placement test fee (non-refundable, non-transferable) - Rs. 1000

This course is taught in our British Council offices in ColomboKandyJaffna. It is also taught in our Partner English Language Centre in Matara and Galle

Refunds are only possible before your first class and an administration fee will be deducted. 

Prices include:
 student folder, reference membership of our library and a British Council course certificate.
