These courses are offered at the following levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-intermediate, Pre-advanced and Advanced.

If you are new to the British Council, you will need to take a placement test to find out which level is right for you. Book a test by calling or by visiting one of our English language centres.

During the course the teacher will review your work, including your writing, speaking, participation and involvement in lessons. The teacher will then be able to give you guidance and feedback on your performance, so you can develop your skills and become confident  when communicating in English.

We also measure your progress to see if you are ready to move up to the next General English level.

You must attend your course regularly, if you miss more than 30% of the course you may need to repeat the level and will not receive a course certificate.
